Richmond News to livestream mayoral debate on Tuesday

The Richmond News will be livestreaming a mayoral debate on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the Minoru Centre for Active Living.

Mayoralty hopefuls will be locking horns about key issues in the city as a part of the all-candidates meeting hosted by Richmond Centre for Disability and Richmond Poverty Reduction Coalition. The theme for the evening is "social justice on the local stage."

News editor Eve Edmonds will be moderating the debate and it will be broadcasted through the Richmond News Facebook page from 5:45 to 6:15 p.m.

This year, three candidates are vying for the mayoralty: incumbent Malcolm Brodie, John Roston and Wei Ping Chen.

Community members are encouraged to submit questions by emailing us at [email protected] with the subject line "Mayoral debate question(s)" or by commenting during the livestream.

The all-candidates meeting is scheduled to run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Details can be found here.
