The Steveston World Cup Village kicks off Thursday, June 12, with D Original Sausage Haus’ Germany pavilion party (see details below).
A total of 32 businesses have signed up for the month-long soccer festival, which starts Thursday at 1 p.m. with host nation Brazil taking on Croatia.
Each participating Steveston business is decorating in the colours and traditions of their adopted competing nation and each is having a “National Day” to celebrate their country of choice.
Richmond residents are being asked to vote for the Best Dressed store on a special Richmond News World Cup Poll on the home page of this website.
Specially made Steveston World Cup Village t-shirts are also on sale for $15 at every participating business in the village.
And tickets are being sold at each participating business for a big Steveston World Cup wrap-up party at ANAF on No. 1 Road on World Cup Final weekend July 12 and 13.
