By combining Western ambiance ideals with traditional Indian food, Bob and Mandeep Singh, co-owners of Ginger Indian Cuisine, seem to have come up with the perfect equation of restaurant success.
Having just opened the second location of Ginger Indian Cuisine this month, the Singhs are overjoyed with their customers’ reactions.
“Before, people would say that the food and service were the best things at the first restaurant,” Bob Singh, who has owned Ginger Indian Cuisine for nearly five years, told Glacier Media. Now, he said, he’s accomplished his dream of creating the perfect dining ambiance as well.
“Everything has been custom made, everything has been made from scratch and everything has been made by the professionals – interior decorators, contractors, you name it,” he said. Having invested ample time and thoughtful consideration into the restaurant setting, Singh said the feel of the restaurant has exceeded his expectations two-fold.
After years of looking for the perfect Indian restaurant in Richmond, Bob and Mandeep decided to take matters into their own hands and open one up for themselves.
“Me and my wife, we were both in the food business and we wanted to open up our own,” Singh said. “Living in Richmond, we were missing Indian food.” After what Bob called “a little experiment,” of bringing the tastes and flavours of India to Richmond, he and Mandeep saw the potential for Indian cuisine in the area.
Now, with two restaurants open, the Singhs’ dreams are coming true.
Whether you want to fine-dine, or have a drink and watch the game in the lounge, “there is something for everybody,” Singh said. The menu and high quality ingredients will remain the same, with the exception of a few new menu items that you will just have to see – and taste – for yourself.
