The surging Richmond Roadrunners will be riding a four-game win streak when they look to complete a home-and-home series sweep on Wednesday night against the Maple Ridge Burrards.

Three unanswered goals in the final eight minutes lifted the Roadrunners to an 11-9 road win on Friday night and improved their record to 8-5-1 in the B.C. Junior “B” Tier One Lacrosse League. The rematch gets underway at 8 p.m. at Minoru Arenas.

Ryan Jensen paced the way offensively for Richmond with six points, including a hat trick. Jordan Roberts also scored three times. Liam O’Connor, Brock Jung and captain Josh Bourne had the others. Bourne finished with five points.

Riku Jokela made 35 saves for the win.

Two nights earlier, the Roadrunners produced perhaps their biggest win on the season, knocking off the visiting Port Coquitlam Saints (11-5-0) 11-7 behind a 33-save performance from Jokela.

O’Connor had a huge night with five goals. He capped a pivotal four-goal outburst in the final period that provided Richmond with some breathing room.

Ben Spare, Erik Kalmbach, Tyler Moxin, Cole Zudik, Thomas Dickinson and Jensen had the others.

The Roadrunners also travel to league-leading Coquitlam (13-1-0) on Friday and host the Delta Islanders (10-5-0) July 3.
