The Richmond Christian Eagles win streak in the Richmond Senior Boys Volleyball League is alive and well after getting past the Steveston-London Sharks in a battle of provincially ranked teams.

The Eagles produced a 3-1 victory at the “Shark Tank” on Tuesday night to lift their record to 6-0. The visitors won a very tight opening set before Steveston-London answered with a rather convincing set two triumph. It was then the Eagles turn to dominate set three and the momentum carried over to the fourth game as well.

With matches remaining against Burnett and Cambie, they are a good bet to complete another unbeaten season in city play. The last loss for the defending champions was during the 2016 playoffs to McRoberts.

Richmond Christian currently sit ninth in the provincial “AA” rankings.

Meanwhile, the Sharks are enjoying their best season in recent memory that has them at No. 15 among “AAA” size schools. They first made noise with a strong showing at last month’s UBC Tournament which featured many of the top schools in the province.

Steveston-London now sits at 3-1 in city play and will be hosting the Richmond playoffs, starting on Nov. 1.
