“This is a thank you to our customers who have supported us for 50 years. We’d like to thank each and every one of you,” owner Brian Montgomery says.

Island Carpet and Flooring prides itself on flooring done right the first time, specializing in residential flooring from stairs to entire homes.

Based in Richmond, across from the Costco parking lot on the corner of Bridgeport and Smith, Island Carpet and Flooring provides services to Richmond and the entire lower mainland.

Products offered include hardwood, laminate, vinyl and carpeting. Its expert sales team is on hand to educate and help its customers find the perfect flooring solution for their needs.

“We currently have the most experienced and knowledgeable sales team in place that we’ve had in many years,” Montgomery says.

“Between the five of us, we have over 125 years of retail flooring experience, and that doesn’t include our in-house installation crews. You can ask us anything about carpet, hardwood, vinyl and laminate options for your home and business.”

Montgomery started working at Island Carpet and Flooring in 2002 and took over as owner in 2015. Trained by the two original owners of Island Carpet and Flooring, he upholds their legacy of transparent customer service.

“The two original owners were both cut from the same cloth. They were all about teaching the customer, giving them the best options, being honest and thorough so the customer could make the best decisions,” Montgomery says.

“We’re not just quick-talking sales guys trying to make a buck.”

At the core of Island Carpet and Flooring’s success is its repeat business.

There’s no better feeling, Montgomery says, than customers trusting them again and again with their home improvements. He’s even seen second and third generations of customers coming to Island Carpet and Flooring with their flooring needs.

Montgomery credits Island Carpet and Flooring’s dedication to educating its customers on their choices with fostering that loyalty.

“We believe and always have believed in repeat business. We achieve this by getting people the right products at a fair price because we want them to come back,” he says.

“It’s a great feeling when people keep coming back because we educate our customers on what they’re getting.”

“Not all flooring is equal. We really believe that you get what you pay for,” Montgomery says.
