Richmond Clinical Trials (RCT) is inviting individuals living with migraines to participate in an ongoing observational research study that will be conducted in Richmond and Kelowna.

RCT is the second location of Okanagan Clinical Trials (OCT), a medical research company in Kelowna, that has had a longstanding history in the Okanagan since 1992.

RCT is currently conducting a study to understand the burden of illness, treatment patterns, and disability in patients with migraines.

“We know migraines can be debilitating and significantly impact people’s lives, but currently there is insufficient longitudinal evidence describing the frequency of headache days, how it impacts quality of life and treatment patterns” says Dr. Colleen Maytham, and Principal Investigator for Okanagan and Richmond Clinical Trials. “This limits patient’s access to newer treatments which can only be addressed if we understand the burden of this illness and treatment limitations.”

You may be eligible to participate in the study if you are 19 years old or older, and currently taking at least one migraine medication. Approximately 2000 participants will participate in the study.

“RCT is proud to offer new clinical trial opportunities to people in our community”, adds Dr. Kim Christie, President of OCT, and RCT.

Study participation will not affect provincial medical coverage. Participants are free to leave the study at any time. To learn more about the study or to volunteer, please call Richmond Clinical Trials at 604.373.4954.
