Richmond City Council candidate Laura Nastasa. Oct. 2014.

Results-Oriented, Citizen-Driven Solutions

Richmond is one of the most dynamic communities in the world.

Time and population growth, however, are impacting the infrastructure that has served as the foundational strength of our community.

To maintain our quality of life and ensure continued future prosperity, we need to ensure that our infrastructure is maintained, upgraded or replaced.

We need to carefully review priorities and allocate resources effectively - focus on developing creative solutions that emphasize the citizen journey and transcend silos.

My priorities include:
•       Ensuring infrastructure (health care, transportation, services, amenities, programming) is well maintained and strategically coordinated with new development
•       Balancing residential, commercial, agricultural and green space uses through  strategic/urban planning
•       Incorporating live, work, play strategies
•       Encouraging cultural, wellness, restorative health and accessibility initiatives
•       Promoting local businesses
•       Developing innovative economy strengthening initiatives
•       Supporting public safety and emergency service
•       Effectively allocating budgets to efficiently provide high quality services

I bring over 20 years of public and private sector experience.

I have lived, worked and traveled in diverse markets – including experience with issues in municipalities/regional districts across BC. This enables me to provide an excellent perspective of Richmond’s comparative position and our opportunities.

I look forward to representing you on Richmond Council.
