My two daughters went through our public education system in Richmond and now I feel it’s time to give back to the system that’s been so good to my family. As an active member of the McNair Parent Advisory Committee (PAC), Parents of McNair Music Association (POMMA) and the Richmond District Parents Association, I’ve been listening to parents, teachers and students talk about the issues of importance to them.
I believe in making the most efficient use of available resources to ensure the best outcome for our students. The status quo is no longer good enough in this age of instant communication and the school system needs to be adaptable to new technology. We need to emphasize the building blocks of the Three R's (reading, writing and arithmetic), foster greater curiosity and to ensure learning outcomes and higher achievement. I’m asking for your vote to make this vision a reality. I stand for:
