Candidate bio - Ken Johnston

Ken Johnston, a Richmond resident since 1976, was first elected to Richmond City Council in 1993 and served until 2001. On November 15, 2008, Ken was again elected to Richmond City Council.

Ken Johnston, a Richmond resident since 1976, was first elected to Richmond City Council in 1993 and served until 2001. On November 15, 2008, Ken was again elected to Richmond City Council.

A Professional Accountant "CPA, CGA", Ken is President of Novex Delivery Solutions, a Richmond-based company. Novex is a leader in sustainability  and has been recognized with the following awards. The Richmond Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Business Ethics, Globe Foundation for Environmental Excellence and the Richmond Chamber of Commerce-Business Leadership Award.

Ken is Vice Chair of the Parks and Recreation Committee and a member of the General Purposes; Finance; and the Community Safety Committee. He is also the Council representative to the following advisory committees, organizations and community associations: the Richmond Museum Society, The Sister City Advisory Committee; the Richmond Seniors Advisory Committee, and the Hamilton Community Association. Ken also chairs the Minoru Major Facility Stakeholder Advisory Committee for the Minoru pool and Older Adults Centre redevelopment.

Ken is an avid Senior Soccer Player and referee. Past chair of the Soccer competition for the 2009 BC Seniors Games held in Richmond, and a former Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Vancouver.
