In running for School Trustee, my vision and goals probably don't differ much from the other candidates. I believe we all want schools that:
- Provide a safe, healthy and nurturing environment
- Are fiscally responsible and well-managed
-Support and empower the teaching staff/administration to carry out their responsibilities to the best of their abilities
-Provide our students with the best possible program to help them attain their goals and dreams
The question is, what do I have to offer ?
As Executive Director of the Seafair Minor Hockey Association, I deal with the daily problems and challenges of running an association with over 800+ players
Professionally, I have worked with individuals with autism for over 30 years as a worker, administrator ,consultant, and have an extensive background in working with government ministries, schools, etc.
I'm very familiar with the Richmond School District having been involved as a parent, a past Special Education Assistant, and outside consultant to the district.
I feel my blend of experience and education in working with families, would be an asset to the board - and it would be an honour to serve as one of Richmond's School Trustees.
