Janos Bergman
Born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, I have been proud to call Canada my home since 1974. I am a Richmond resident and I believe in my community. I communicate in Canada’s two official languages, as well as German/Hungarian/Russian.
Guiding principles/expectations: inclusion, respect for Canada, its core values, institutions/democratic principles/integrity and leadership by example.
I am an Independent Candidate for Councillor with no party affiliation. I am an agent for change and a voice for the disenfranchised. If you’re satisfied with the status quo don’t vote for me.
My key issues:
unilingual signage;
improved public transportation;
protection of environment;
poverty and affordable housing, including seniors;
timely completion within budget of community projects;
public safety/security
I offer senior executive management experience in the private, corporate, governmental, NGO, academic and non-profit sectors. North American, Asia Pacific and European expertise in general management, strategies, policies, marketing, communications, global alliances, media, issue/crisis/change management.
I am self-employed as a medical and legal interpreter. Extensively travelled throughout the world but always happiest returning to British Columbia/Canada.
