Candidate bio - Alice S. Wong

Alice S. Wong is a mother of two teenagers, with her eldest just graduated from Richmond Secondary and the youngest one attending Grade 11. Alice believes that children are our future and they deserve to have the best possible education.

Alice S. Wong is a mother of two teenagers, with her eldest just graduated from Richmond Secondary and the youngest one attending Grade 11.

Alice believes that children are our future and they deserve to have the best possible education. She has been involved in public education since her son attended kindergarten. 

She had served as BCCPAC Parent Resource Coordinator, President of Richmond Chinese Parents’ Association, PAC Chair at William Cook Elementary and A.R. MacNeil Secondary School. She also served as the Vice President of Richmond District Parents Association, as well as serving on the School Planning council, Annual Learning & Brain Conference planning committee.

Alice believes students should also be good citizens and we must lead by example. She has worked with young people as a Navy League Cadet Officer of the Richmond Corps, developing our young people a sense of duty, discipline, and respect for others.

If elected, Alice will: 

Advocate for more resources for public education

Support open, accountable, and transparent governance

Improve students’ achievements

Encourage parental involvement in their child’s education

Support a safe, healthy, and inclusive learning environment
