Investment or human right: Housing forum heads to Richmond

It’s the topic everyone loves to hate: housing in Metro Vancouver. Rising rents, unattainable real estate, new taxes, modular housing, foreign ownership, affordable units – there is certainly no shortage of discussion points on the issue.

It’s the topic everyone loves to hate: housing in Metro Vancouver.

Rising rents, unattainable real estate, new taxes, modular housing, foreign ownership, affordable units – there is certainly no shortage of discussion points on the issue.

On Wednesday, May 9, in partnership with Fairchild Radio, SOLD!, a new CBC podcast, is hosting a public forum in Richmond to discuss whether housing is an investment or a human right. The event is free and at Brighouse United Church from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Moderated by Stephen Quinn, host of CBC Radio One’s The Early Edition, SOLD! considers how we got to this point in Metro Vancouver’s housing debacle and what the future will hold.
