Can you find peace when you consciously go looking for it?

Where do you find peace, can you find it in the midst of the multi-tasking you do every day?

Most people would say peace is what they want in their lives yet they make choices contrary to that desire.

We walk or run with our iPods plugged into our ears, drive listening to the radio and have our televisions constantly on for company and/or were on our computers.

Does this sound like you? Notice how little time you actually spend in silence these days. Some people deliberately keep their lives active as a way to avoid being in the silence. Because, when we enter silence we begin to see what is wanting our attention and sometimes those feelings can be uncomfortable, so we camouflage it with noise and activity.

What if you made a conscious choice to keep the noise out and let the peace in, to practice being with yourself on a daily basis without distractions whenever you can?

When you welcome uncomfortable emotions and be fully present with them, rather than push them aside, you may discover they dont come to visit you as often, if at all.

I often hear people ask, How can I get over this feeling or make it go away, I dont like it and my heart is breaking?

Well, the way to do that is to actually welcome it instead of pushing it away. The more you push it away, the more it tends to come knocking on your door for attention.

Interesting isnt it, that which we are trying to avoid is the actual gift that can help you discover peace.

You cannot run from who you are, for no matter where you go, there you are. If we meet every aspect of who we are then there is no need to run and hide. We have the ability to discover that peace is here, that it is always present.

It is here in the midst of chaos, tragedy and happiness and it takes but a moment to simply stop, be present and discover if peace is here.

Check it out, be still and see if you can discover the peace that is within you right now.
