Silent salute resonates

The Editor,

After reading the article on the procession of motorcyclists and emergency vehicles making their way down Highway 99 to the Peace Arch to commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11, I felt this would be a opportunity to commemorate 9/11.

I went to the Steveston overpass early Sunday morning. It was a very moving and emotional experience seeing the lights of hundreds of motor bikes and emergency vehicles coming down the highway.

Closer to the overpass, we (there were two others there) exchanged many waves with the riders, and the sound of horns and sirens was quite impressive. Without a word there was a connection.
