Take a drive down Steveston Highway, Gilbert Road, Francis Road, No. 2 Road, or just about any road in our fair city and you will find nine out of 10 cars not only speeding but doing so excessively.

We have no dedicated speed enforcement in Richmond, other than the one officer you wrote about on Aug. 10. All our neighbours such as Delta, Burnaby and Vancouver have dedicated squads to deal with the ongoing speeding problems.

Richmond needs to follow suit and enforce what is now becoming a joke in regards to our speed limits. One officer or 10 is not enough if it's not enforced on a daily basis.

Between cell phone, "N" and "L" drivers, speeding cars and buses in construction zones, residents of Richmond deserve better. Let's enforce the law, get people to slow down and have a safer day on our roads.
