Richmond News readers might be interested in knowing that across Canada people are discovering that what they buy this holiday season can change the world, one gift at a time.

Last year alone, 579 local Richmond residents used the catalogue to buy $122,362 worth of essential items ranging from livestock to clean water to medical supplies - for children and families in developing countries.

Every gift from the catalogue is valuable, so you can choose the gift that's most meaningful for you to give knowing it will meet a critical need in places where World Vision works - including environmentally-friendly gifts like solar power for a community.

A recent survey conducted by Harris Interactive for World Vision indicates more than three out of four British Columbians would prefer to give a gift that benefits the environment (76 per cent) and three quarters would prefer to receive a gift that benefits the environment.
