Recently, Coun. (Bill) McNulty wrote about all the "exciting" plans that are afoot for Richmond's parks this year.
This wasn't a slip of the pen. He used the expression several times.
Councillor, there are several adjectives that apply to parks, such as quiet, pleasurable, therapeutic etc. but "exciting" is definitely not one of them.
Parks are havens of peace to get away from the hurlyburly of city life and enjoy a somewhat modified version of the great outdoors.
Of course, you may be different from others and get a great big adrenaline rush from watching the grass grow but to the average individual, "exciting" is when Sidney Crosby scores the goal which won the Olympic Gold Medal or when The Lions won the Grey Cup.
How did you react to these occasions, councillor? Load up on tranquilizers and lie down for a week? And maybe you should re-think your upcoming taxpayerpaid junkets to the Orient. You might visit a shrine one day and be completely overcome with ecstasy.
It could create a complex medical problem.
