Parade lost its edge

The letters reflect the views of all of the people with whom I have discussed the deterioration of the quality of the Canada Day parade. I have attended every parade since 1989, when it used to be fun, with beauty queens, vintage cars, no religious messages or right wing special interest groups like today. The parade has become boring and predictable. The highlight for the crowd was the pirates with their fun cannon. That will likely be frowned upon and removed as frightening the seagulls next year.

A sense of humour is needed for next year's parade.
