Local farms will wither, die without local support

Re: "Berry dumping mystifies rival," News, July 13.

No way, B.C. farmers should not accept these negative comments for solution of the strawberry crisis. B.C. needs to maintain our B.C.-grown produce.

We must have the right attitude to listen to the voice of complaints from our local strawberry farms.

If we keep on buying strawberries from the U.S., our local growers will fade away and all B.C.-grown produce will be replaced by outside suppliers.

Our government, member of the parliament, mayor and councillors must be accountable, smart and efficient to settle this matter without any further delay or excuse.

B.C. needs to maintain our B.C.-grown produce. It is not too late to educate people to support our local produce; every Canadian has an important role to play.
