Dear Editor,
In all the reading I have done about the lawn bowling clubhouse, I have not seen how the $5.2 million price tag was arrived at. A quick search of MLS listings of houses in Richmond built since 2018 shows:
4700 sq. ft. house asking $3,688,000
5300 sq. ft. house asking $3,088,000
9111 sq. ft. house asking $3,180,000.
The price of these new homes includes the cost of the land they are built on, but for the lawn bowling clubhouse, this would not be a factor. Can someone from the city please explain why it is going to cost so much?
