Dear Editor,

To the rogue who felt the need to steal my 12-year old’s barely used bicycle yesterday — thanks a lot.

I am a single parent and my son has had a difficult year, including starting a brand new school. This bike was a Christmas present but only ridden about six times.

Yesterday, he decided to take it to school (Lord Byng Elementary) and, you guessed it... school ends and out he goes to find no bike. Yes, it was locked, but that did not deter the thief.

It’s pretty cruel to steal from a kid and cause financial hardship for a parent. While the bike was not an expensive one, it was what I could afford at the time.

So, if you see someone with a black Supercycle with red highlights and white writing who didn’t have one before yesterday, maybe that’s my son’s.
