Letter: Rolling stops galore on Richmond's Moncton Street

Dear Editor,

Re: “RCMP Supt. has Richmond Mounties’ backs over rolling stops,” Letters, March 10.

I have been following, with great interest, the letters regarding ticketing for rolling stops. I was particularly interested in the comments of Officer In Charge, Will Ng about his officers reacting to any infraction they witness.

The corner of Third Avenue and Moncton Street should be of interest to any traffic division officer, or any officer in the neighbourhood for that matter. If one spends any time around that four-way stop intersection (especially in the morning), they will bear witness to a litany of rolling stops and, in all too many instances, vehicles barely slowing down, just blasting through that intersection where the alleged speed limit is 30 km/h (which should be the limit for all non-arterial streets).
