Dear Editor,

Re: “Former church, children’s charity volunteer groomed teen boy for sex,” News, Sept. 28

As a friend of the family of Bernie Macht, I was offended by this two-page story. Was it really necessary to have all the details of the court printed? The story could have been reported with half the information and gotten the message across very clearly.

That boy and his family must feel like they are being victimized again. If any one from his school found it was him, they would make his life miserable.

I have read your paper for years and don’t remember reading anything quite like this before. This is traumatic for everyone who knows any of the people involved.
