Dear Editor,

The Richmond School District is currently engaged in a public consultation process to gather information to develop our Long Range Facilities Plan (LRFP). The fundamental purpose of an LRFP is to provide a mechanism for districts to demonstrate they are managing their facilities in an effective, economic and efficient way in support of their educational goals. It also provides a roadmap for the future as we make decisions about issues relating to our facilities.

It is important that the board hears from our community as we develop a draft long-range facilities plan. As we make critical decisions moving forward, we want to ensure that members of the community have had the opportunity to share their thoughts with us. We would like to invite you to be part of this process as it unfolds.

The district will be hosting two public open houses to discuss the draft LRFP on May 25 at Brighouse elementary (6800 Azure Rd.) and June 1 at Bridge elementary (10400 Leonard Rd.) both from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

We would also encourage you to review the draft LRFP document by visiting our public consultation website at http://bit.ly/2XRLQDD. Through the website, you can also submit any feedback or comments that you would like the Board to consider.
