Letter: Let’s celebrate our brave Richmond firefighters

Dear Editor, “Richmond crews continue battle wildfire for second day,” Richmond-News.com, July 28. My admiration for firefighters, already high, escalated July 27, when the fire erupted near the Richmond Nature Park.

Dear Editor, “Richmond crews continue battle wildfire for second day,” Richmond-News.com, July 28.

My admiration for firefighters, already high, escalated July 27, when the fire erupted near the Richmond Nature Park.

As I saw and smelled the smoke from a safe distance, I thought about the people who were in the thick of the danger.

Surely they can only be in their line of work because of their courage and conviction.

They can’t be hankering after fast and easy money, like so many people today.

They continually put their life on the line, but remain anonymous.

They may never be celebrities, but they deserve to be celebrated by us all.
