Dear Editor,

Re: “Richmond schools dodge closure, ball now in MLA’s court,” Richmond-News.com.

When an immovable object meets an irresistible force, the latter will succeed every time.

With the formidable resistance of mothers, Kelly Greene, Kim Nowitsky, Emi Dyck and others, it was just a matter of when, not if, the Richmond Board of Education would raise the white flag.

Just as a mother grizzly protecting her cubs is a terrifying sight, so too was the determination from these mother’s who made it abundantly clear, they would never accept the closing of their children’s schools.

The people have spoken and it is a wondrous thing to see democracy in action and how a small group of committed citizens can challenge and defeat, bureaucratic decisions that make no sense.                                                                                                                 An  A+  for all these Richmond mothers who have taught us  the value of defiance.
