Letter: Don't just recycle...reuse

Dear Editor, Re: “The Blob, not just cult fiction,” Voices, May 9. I read with interest your editorial regarding your family commitment to recycling your bags and commend you for it. There is, however, more you and others could do.

Dear Editor,

Re: “The Blob, not just cult fiction,” Voices, May 9.

I read with interest your editorial regarding your family commitment to recycling your bags and commend you for it. There is, however, more you and others could do.

I presume that when you shop, you pick up bags at the store, fill them with fruits and vegetables, empty them at home and then put the bags in your recycling box.

Instead of the recycling box, the bags can be put right back in your (reusable) shopping bag and used until they are too soiled or ripped to be reused. Then they can  be recycled.

The savings are much greater than a one-time use.
