Letter: B.C. wood passed up for American timber at Richmond park

Dear Editor, I was unpleasantly surprised and dismayed to find that the extensive upgrade and extension of the beautiful boardwalks in Richmond Nature Park is being done with premium grade lumber imported from Manke Lumber in Tacoma, Wash., USA.

Dear Editor,

I was unpleasantly surprised and dismayed to find that the extensive upgrade and extension of the beautiful boardwalks in Richmond Nature Park is being done with premium grade lumber imported from Manke Lumber in Tacoma, Wash., USA.

How can this happen when we have a vibrant lumber industry right here in B.C.? What possible legitimate excuse could explain why beautiful B.C. lumber was not used?
