Letter: A nail in the coffin of the Richmond we knew

Dear Editor,

After just watching Mr. Bill Zylmans on Global TV  remove his beautiful strawberry sign, which to us has symbolized the beginning of summer every year since childhood, I can’t help but feel it’s just another nail in the coffin of Richmond as we once knew it.

Some people are breaking bylaws every single day, laughing all the way to the bank, making a fool of city hall, and the rest of us law-abiding citizens.

The Chinese-only signage scandal, the birthing houses, the gambling scandal, the massage parlors, none of these things have been closed, but the hard-working farmer gets slapped with two fines in one week.

Good work everyone at city hall,  you’ve made us all proud to live in Richmond...NOT!
