Letters: Where is Richmond’s cooling centre?

Dear Editor,

Here is a question for all of us, where is the cooling center in Richmond?

The temperature is reaching 40C as I'm typing. You’d think a library would be a good place to spend a couple of hours. No! I got kicked out because I wasn't using their computer for a quick browse.

I was told by staff if you want to cool off, you can stay for an hour, then leave. Is that just because COVID-19 restrictions? Where is our compassion?

A library is a place for old and young, rich and poor. It was my favorite place, but today I was not allowed to sit there.
