One Richmond News reader is bemused by the state of Richmond's driving conditions

Dear Editor,

Richmond has the worst driving conditions I’ve ever experienced when it’s dark and raining.

Lane divider lines on many major thoroughfares are almost invisible, reflectors are basically non-existent and the streetlights seem to be powered by 40 watt bulbs.

Driving on River Road last night in the rain from the Oval to No. 1 Road was terrible with the glare of oncoming headlights adding to the stress.

Our property taxes keep going up yet one of the most basic safety requirements keep getting worse.

It’s only blind luck that there aren’t more traffic accidents and fatalities. Time to shine a light on these unacceptable conditions.

Don Grant
