Super Grocer & Pharmacy burned down on Friday night.

Dear Editor,

Re: "Photo gallery: Road partially closed in front of burnt out Super Grocer"

I hope that Super Grocer is able to rebuild.

Their building is a landmark in Steveston. I feel for the employees who lost their  jobs.

I think the meat aisle and the Asian condiments across the meat chiller is always the most crowded area at Super Grocer.

I’m truly going to miss my weekly trips to this place. It’s my go-to for cut flowers and meat cuts, veggie seedlings and other plants In the late spring and summer.

Shopping at Super Grocer feels like staying at your regular coffee  shop. You see familiar faces. You don’t know them they are regulars like you. You exchange a smile or a tip, re which cut of meat is best for a certain dish.

Unlike bigger supermarkets, there’s a community feel at Super Grocer.
