Dear Richmond residents,
We are 6- and 7-year-old students in Division 13 at Dixon Elementary. We are sad and angry.
When we arrived at school on Monday, April 24 we found our classroom windows were vandalized and broken for the second time in two weeks.
We cannot follow our routine at school. We cannot learn. There is no natural light in our classroom. We need our windows repaired.
We have a school garden. In November, we planted garlic. It was growing beautifully. We recently planted vegetable seeds.
Our garden was vandalized. The garlic was pulled out and destroyed and our garden was trampled on.
We work hard to take care of our garden and we want you to do the same.
At Dixon, we learn to honour ourselves, honour others and honour our environment. We show respect to others and our gardens. We treat others like we want to be treated.
We hope you will be a good example to our young students and stop this nonsense.
Our parents pay lots of taxes to help make our school a special place, but tax dollars need to pay for the replacement of our classroom windows. We want this to change.
Thank you for your attention.
