Dear Editor,
Many of us had definite views on whether they were fans of Premier Doug Ford or just hated the sight of him.
However, when it comes to the Donald Trump's fiascos and his grossly nonsensical tariffs against Canada, I can only offer Ford a bouquet of flowers.
Canadians have to support his strong objections to Donald Trump's outrageous judgments and actions such as the tax on electrical exports to the U.S.
Juxtaposed to Ford is Premier Danielle Smith of Alberta.
Smith and her lack of making any real sacrifice for Canada should be singled out as undermining a Team Canada approach to giving Trump a bloody nose.
Unfortunately, the American consumer will pay the price, but we did not start this needless economic war and the public always pays the price.
Canada can only make its small voice heard if Alberta follows Ford's lead and applies an oil export tax. And Saskatchewan should follow with a similar 25-per-cent surcharge of all potash sales to the U.S.
Only then will the American consumer force Trump to admit to his stupid bully tactics towards Canada and to you and me.
