Letters: Is our health being hung out to dry in Richmond?

Dear Editor, I hang out my laundry to dry and years ago, I had to wipe the clothesline only once, after the winter. Now, I wipe every time and the rag is always filthy, no matter what the season. So I did an experiment.

Dear Editor,

I hang out my laundry to dry and years ago, I had to wipe the clothesline only once, after the winter.

Now, I wipe every time and the rag is always filthy, no matter what the season. So I did an experiment.

Two years ago, I hung a thick, white flannel cloth on the clothesline and never took it down.

Today, it is grey and almost totally consumed by holes and tears.

If the pollution and dirt in the air do this to a thick textile, imagine what they do to our bodies and the environment.
