Dear Editor,

Re: “Grieving family still has questions after sentencing,” News, March 25

After reading your report about the procedures from the first day when Christy Mahy died by a careless driver in 2014 till his sentencing in March 2021, I could hardly believe this happened in Canada.

How does Canada check a person applying for refugee status?

How was he allowed to leave the country?

And, at the end, to receive such unjust sentencing.

Oh, I could go on and on, but you put it all in your two articles.

Thanks for opening my and hopefully many more readers’ eyes.
