Dear Editor,
Re: “Vaccine sends man, 27, to hospital,” News, Aug, 19.
The article above was shocking to say the very least.
You dedicated half a page to this obscure case of one person getting sick from a very rare vaccine side-effect (16 in a million!), yet still recovering, then only concluded the lengthy article with a significantly shorter notation of very important statistics on how dire the situation is here in Richmond, and how most everyone who gets sick chose to not get vaccinated?
In the midst of the fourth wave of a global pandemic, that the Richmond News should contribute to the huge problem of vaccine hesitancy is morally irresponsible.
We are no longer winning the battle. Business shut downs, job losses, and reopening delays have significant negative consequences to people's financial and mental well-being.
Dr. Bonnie has just warned that upcoming plans to further relax health restrictions and move forward have been cancelled, so why is the Richmond News sabotaging best efforts to encourage everyone to get fully vaccinated as quickly as possible?
