Dear Editor,
Re: “Spending a year in Winnipeg last weekend,” Retirement column, June 23.
In response to the people who wrote in disputing my taste in vacation spots, I have this to say:
I stand corrected. Some great things about Winnipeg are:
• City Bread’s rye bread.
• Smoked Goldeye fish.
• The Merchant Kitchen restaurant at the Alt Hotel.
• The new addition to the Convention Centre.
• The drive along Wellington Crescent.
• Gunn’s Bakery on Selkirk Street.
• The Sherbrooke Street. deli.
• The wind whipping through Portage and Main
• Winnipeg Beach.
Thank you for bringing those sights to my attention.
