Open letter to Dr. Bonnie Henry:
I am penning an open letter to you, Dr. Bonnie Henry, as I have tried other channels, and cannot get in touch with you.
Attending church is no more, actually less, conducive to COVID-19 transmission than going to eat at a restaurant with six people. In church we wear masks, physical distance, do not sing, do not move around, except for Holy Communion, and only remove masks to consume the Holy Eucharist, the body and blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We attend mass at church — we do not socialize.
Holy Communion is essential to my mental and spiritual well-being. I am sure you do not want me to become depressed, which might result in my inability to take care of myself and my spouse.
Please, be aware, for many British Columbians, church is even more essential than grocery stores.
Thank you very much for your service to British Columbians. And I hope you see that church is the most essential service ever, and act accordingly.
