Re: “Local hardware stores needed,” Letters, April 27.
I have only been a resident of Steveston for 18 months and love this village but I totally agree with a letter in your paper a couple of weeks ago.
He suggested we don’t need anymore restaurants or take-outs, but we do need a small hardware or general-type store for everyday needs, from a pack of picture hangers to clothespins.
I also miss a bagel shop and the availability of real baguettes, not the grocery store kind.
I am a senior, without a vehicle.
