A Richmond News reader thinks Coun. Carol Day was right to question a development before city council

Dear Editor,

Re: “Councillor apologizes for suggestion of ‘preferential treatment’ for developer,” News, June 30.

With regard to the headlined story about Carol Day’s apology to council about preferential treatment, I think that she has every right to be critical and need not apologize.

Much of our city council has been in place for far too long and always seem to be on the side of developers and not ordinary citizens.

This has gone on for year after year. In other circumstances, the approval of a member’s husband’s proposal would be called nepotism.
