Dear Editor,
Anyone watching how our city councilors have voted on the size of houses on farmland or house massing in Richmond must see how well-intentioned our leaders have been.
It is so nice to know that our city representatives are diligent, balanced in their decision-making and have such vision for Richmond.
Apparently, we can eliminate city planning staff, since anything they propose is disregarded. If you want to fill your whole lot with house and pavement, fill your boots.
We must cut down every remaining tree and remove anything resembling plant life in the process.
Hey, while we are at it, let’s turn our farmland into massive mansions. Island City, by Nature? That logo needs to be changed.
There has been a lot of talk lately on the provincial front about banning big money from politics. It is far past time we removed big donations to councillors from those with only selfish interests.
In the next municipal election, my vote will only go to those who run a transparent, lean campaign that costs no more than ten thousand dollars from small donations.
