Letter: Urgent need for bridge

Dear Editor,

Re: “Proper planning, not propaganda, is needed,” Richmond News, Letters, July 21.

It is interesting how two people can read the same document and come away with completely different understanding.

Mr. Andersen’s letter complains about the details of the full -page advertisement regarding the WeNeedABridge.ca campaign to continue the current bridge construction.

He complains that there are no facts, yet I see only facts in the full-page ad. And if he reads the details of the bridge campaign on the Delta website, we will see many more facts.

His letter attempts to dismiss facts yet he provides no evidence or research to support his viewpoint. His letter provides more misinformation.

My reading of the full-page ad and the details in the websites leads me to believe there is an urgent need to replace the aging tunnel with a new bridge.

It seems the safety of Richmond and Delta commuters, and others, is at risk daily.

My conclusion is that the best solution is to continue with the bridge construction for the safety of all.
