Dear Editor,

The stink over Richmond has now reached new intolerable levels. It’s gotten even worse since the recycling plant got approval to foul our air more than before.

Windows cannot be opened, sitting on one’s patio is now out of the question. Even driving along Highway 91 is so bad, one starts to gag.

How can a company be allowed to do this?

The real question here is where are our elected officials? Where is our mayor, who should be shutting this plant down? Does he not care about the people who elected him? What about our local MLAs, do they not live in their own ridings and not smell this?

This stench cannot be healthy as it is caused by all types of bacteria that must be floating in the air also.

Our politicians must stand up, speak out, and support the people of Richmond who are having to put up with this.

This is no longer a good place to live, and we should put out a warning to all tourists and visitors to bring masks as the air is bad.
