Re: “Steveston tram route set in motion?” News, Sept. 8.

News flash: If you have all this extra money ($50,000) floating around to ‘study’ the possibility of running the historic Interurban Tram through Steveston, how about spending it on:

A) A much needed new community center here in Steveston (with expanded programs for kids and the elderly.)

B) A much needed before-and-after school option for this community. (We are one of the few that doesn’t have one.)

C) Relocating our library.

D) Replacing the concrete pad in the water park with a softer solution.

E) Exploring options for a homeless shelter.

F) Expanding our ambulance service, not cutting it. (We are a growing community, not a shrinking one.)

G) Exploring the lack of helmet usage on bikes.

H) Exploring the option of getting back to the table with Onni and try to come to some kind of settlement. (We are the ones suffering looking at structures that could house so many programs falling apart.)

These are some of my suggestions. We have spent x amount of money to restore this tram, and x amount of money to store it and now you want to move it?

Really....

Spend our money where we need it. This is not it.
