Dear Editor

On Sunday night, Jan. 29, a terrorist went into a Quebec City mosque during evening prayers and shot six people while they were in prayer.

It disheartens me that anybody can desecrate a place of worship and take innocent lives, especially here in Canada.

After hearing this news, on Monday afternoon, as I arrived home and came out from my car, my teary-eyed neighbour approached me with flowers and a card.

She said she was thinking about us during this time.

It was so thoughtful of her to take the time to tell me she was thinking about us and she would stand with us during this difficult time.

I wanted to thank all the Canadians who are supporting and standing in solidarity with the Muslims, other minorities, and oppressed peoples.

It really means a lot to see the compassion in people, and their courage to show it!

So proud to be Canadian!
