Dear Editor,

Well, well, well...Christy Clark has had her appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada thrown out.

This is what happens when someone thinks they are above it all.

B.C. Supreme Court Justice Susan Griffin must be shaking her head. She ruled, years ago, that the Liberal government of Christy Clark was acting illegally in the teacher’s dispute over class sizes and class composition (children with learning needs and no support). But Premier Clark took her time, appealed and appealed until the decision was reversed.

Finally, the 15-year battle has ended this week with the Supreme Court of Canada decision, which was exactly in line with Justice Susan Griffin.

What a waste of time and money.

A whole generation of students lost out because someone with power was ignorant and stubborn. B.C. taxpayers footed the bill for Clark’s behaviour, while teachers and their union paid a heavy price fighting for the rights of students in the public education system.

Premier Clark’s son is in a highly prestigious and expensive private school. The legal battle that went on did not cost her a cent, personally. Yet, the responsibility for this mess rests squarely on her shoulders.

As a premier, who exactly is she representing?
