Dear Editor,

I would like to address an incident that happened on the corner of Granville Avenue and Gilbert Road at possibly 12:30pm, Friday, June 8.

I was crossing Gilbert against the traffic partly, because the crosswalk signal was out due to construction, which confused me, then angered me. A car, with the right of way, began turning left towards me and stopped.  I stopped, turned and lashed out with an angry look and a middle finger.  He was doing no wrong, I was, no matter the circumstance.

At the time, my anxiety level was red lining. I’ve been experiencing a lot of stress lately; but there is always a choice when one acts, sometimes though we have precious little control of our senses.

I was still in the wrong and I apologize from the bottom of my broken heart to that man and to everyone who witnessed my behaviour.
